The Virunga Mountains running along the border between Rwanda and Zaire are turned as the home of the Mountain Gorilla, one of the most magnificent beasts on earth. This exciting trip is arranged by our local ground agents, United Touring, and offers one of the most thrilling and moving experiences of a lifetime.
ITINERARY
1st day
Depart London Heathrow by British Airways.
2nd day
Arrive Nairobi and transfer to the Jacaranda Hotel.
3rd day
Fly to Kigali and transfer to Goma for overnight at the Karibu Hotel on the shores of Lake Kivu.
4th day
Early morning departure to Djomba to commence gorilla tracking. After lunch, drive to Rwindi and stay at Rwindi Lodge for 2 nights.
5th day
Game drive through the savannah plains to Rutshuru River, which has a higher concentration of hippos than any other watercourse in Africa.
6th day
Drive to Djomba for a second day of gorilla tracking. Overnight at the Karibu Hotel in Goma.
7th day
Drive to Kigali for the flight to Nairobi. Overnight at the Jacaranda Hotel.
8th day
Leave Nairobi and drive to the delightful colonial-style Outspan Hotel for lunch and overnight stay.
9th day
After lunch lodge transpor1stion takes you to the Aberdare Forest for a night
of game viewing at Treetops.
10th day
Return to the Outspan Hotel for breakfast. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax in the hotel’s beautiful gardens.
11th day
Return to Nairobi for the flight by British Airways to London.
12th day
Arrive Heathrow in the early morning.
MEALS:
Breakfast only in Nairobi, full board on safari.
