DAY 1
Heathrow/Colombo: Depart this evening on a Sri Lankan Airlines flight, via Maldives.
DAY 2
Colombo: Upon arrival transfer to and overnight at the Holiday Inn. (RO)
DAY 3
Colombo/Sigiriya: Leave for Sigiriya, visiting Dambulla Caves en route. Sigiriya Village,
Day 4
Sigiriya: This morning enjoy a two-hour ride on elephant back through forest at Habarana. In the afternoon visit the island’s medieval capital, Polonnaruwa.
Day 5
Sigiriya: In the morning climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the resort facilities or take an optional excursion to Anuradhapura (paid locally). (B, D)
Day 6
Sigiriya/Kandy: Depart for Kandy visiting a spice garden and batik factory en route. Afternoon at leisure. Mahaweli Reach Hotel, (B, D)
Day 7
Kandy: This morning visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Later return to Kandy to visit the Botanical Gardens, the Temple of the Tooth and see a cultural performance.
Day 8
Kandy/Nuwara Eliya: Drive into the hill country, visiting a tea estate en route. Afternoon at leisure. Grand Hotel. (B, D)
Day 9
Nuwara Eliya/Wadduwa or Bentota: Leave the hill country for your chosen beach resort, The Blue Water in Wadduwa or Club Bentota in Bentota; or take the short ‘Yala and the south’ extension, see opposite. (B)
Days 10-13
Wadduwa or Bentota: At leisure to enjoy the facilities at your* chosen beach resort, See individual hotels for board basis
Day 14
Wadduwa or Bentota/ Colombo/ Heathrow: Early afternoon nonstop Sri Lankan Airlines flight, arriving home later the same day.
