THE BLUE TRAIN
The legendary Blue Train offers her passengers the opportunity to view some of South Africa’s most spectacular scenery whilst enjoying unparalleled levels of service, cuisine and luxury.
A trip on the Blue Train is certain to be a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience, whether it be for part of a special celebration or simply as that holiday treat you’ve always promised yourself.
The Blue Train has recently undergone extensive restoration and comprises 18 carriages which can accommodate a maximum of 82 guests (NB children under 16 years of age by special request only). All air-conditioned compartments offer en-suite bath, shower and WC and have television, internal telephone, safe and hairdryer. Beds fold out of panels which conceal the seats under it. Journeys start with lunch and finish with breakfast — meals are served in the dining car, with drinks, tea and coffee included. Smart casual dress is required during the day, with more formal attire, including jacket and tie for gentlemen, in the evening. Smoking is only permitted in the Club Car — the lounge, dining cars and compartments are smoke-free zones.
